Sweet lord have mercy am I sore.

Moving is hard work. Moving everything out of an appartment that 2 people have lived in for almost a year in under 2 days from the second story into a new house that also needs to be painted and have a few new furnishings built from scraps?

More than hard work.

Ow.

Apparently?

I needed more sleep than I got yesterday.

About 2am this morning my body went...SLEEP!

Luckily no calls from then till I woke up, about 4am. But that was supposed to be working time! Gah! Again I'm rushing to get work done...sorta :P After all, I am updating.

Manga is the devil.

I sat down with the expectation to finish all of my work by 3 or 4 am, and then relax for the rest.

Instead I read 160 chapters of a 270 chapter manga until 6 am...and then rushed through all the work to get it done by now.

Evil manga.

EVIL.

So, I haven't posted in awhile, I'll try to post more, but I've got 2 things to do today, one a rant and one a funny work related thing.

Work related thing:

So, as most of you I'm sure know, the average last name comes from various sources. The most common of which are professions (Cooper, Smith, etc) or from a 'family coneection' (Scott, Davidson, etc) so I got a en email from someone that made me just blink.

What gets you the last name of 'Sexsmith'?

o.O

And now for the Rant, cut to save f-list

I've been poking around on the internet and my pokings have led me to a question:

Can someone that believes in religion perform a moral act? After all, the religions of the world are all based around the idea that if you perform one type of act you will be punished, and if you perform another type of act you will be rewarded. Many of the religious right often argue that if there is no belief in god, there is no incentive to act in any way, and people will just run around like crazed criminals.

Is it possible to perform a moral act when you are being threatened with punishment if you don't perform that act? Obviously people make both choices, but is it really a moral act? You're acting fairly selfishly if you do what your religion tells you to, since not doing so will get you punished.

It's an interesting thought...

Had trouble switching back this time around, didn't wake up on Sunday after my nap. That was a mistake. Oh well, I'll be okay after I finish the shift.

No real hillarious emails that I can point to, the number was actually less than 20, I think the new girl they hired to work emails has been fairly effective, none of the emails for me were for before 1:30 pm so...

No story tonight either, though this episode is fairly short, I'll probably be combining it with the next episode (since they're basically one realy long combat scenario.

Bit the bullet and App'd Blitza, we'll see how the powers that be find him, slightly nervous about this application seeing as how it's the first time I've actually put my own work before someone else to have it criticized.

Megan went home for the weekend as did Pat which has made the whole appartment very much empty. I have decided that I do not do living alone. It is to boring, no one to talk to about random stuff that doens't matter...I get enough of that at work.

Alrighty so I'm going to go ahead and transcribe the 'amazing adventure of the yet to be named DnD group' into my LJ, I'll try to do one session per post, keep things simple, might have some trboule with some of the sessions becuase they were awhile ago.

First....

Blitza, played by yours truly, is a Goblin Technician. He builds things. Specifically things that go boom. He's in the game cause he wants him the monies.
Marumune, played by [info]vampirehunter85, is a Pandarian Samurai. Basically uber swordsman.
Beldin, played by my friend Adam, is an undead warlock. He is not a nice person.
Maevin, played by Brendon, is a human Paladin. He is a nice person.
Thorin, pla>yed by Mannie, is a Dwarven Rogue. He's in it for the treasure.

Alright, I got a good one for you all today (I saw to the masses of nobody that read the journal :P). I have a user complaining that he can't open a specific program. Now, most of the time, since I'm the night guy, I deal with emails. The email in question arrived during my previous shift. As technicians at the helpdesk our primary issue is that we try to troubleshoot these more common problems, and get as much information as possible before sending out the 'real' technicians. Since the program wasn't starting I figured I'd ask: "Are you receiving any error messages when the program fails to load?" A fairly leading question I felt. The response? "Yes."

*facepalms*

Sometimes people just make me chuckle.

Blegh, I really dislike some of the people at my work. It's nothing personal, but they just don't seem to get 'work ethic'. I get yelled at for making a stupid mistake (I overlooked something in an email, one of 60 I did that night, and treated one user like he was a member of a different group, my mistake) and then told that basically if I have been making this same mistake forever, and if I can't get it right then I need to switch off of nights and back to days.

Now, I take criticism fairly well, assuming that the intention is that it is constructive, but when you're going to basically tell me that I suck at my job, when you yourself spend 4 hours each day goofing off and doing nothing with your friend, while the emails (which you are responsible for) are being done by 2 of the employees that also have to answer phones (which you, of course, do not) then I might have a small issue with it.

/end rant

No funny emails, doing my best not to look bad again, so I didn't really look for anything to have a fun story for.

Well, I f'd up bad last night, didn't check something I was supposed to and about 10 thinkgs went undone. It pisses me off because I know if I'd known about them they'd have gotten done. But now I just look like some idiot that can't even do his real job.

However, I have got a nice fun one for you from tonight. As most companies do, one of the companies that hires out our tech support group blocks certain sites (youtube, flicker, etc) because it impacts on work issues, etc. So we get an email with the following request:
"Members of the |(Buisness name)| need access to social media/peer-to-peer websites such as you tube, my space, facebook, technorati, flicker and other similar sites for business purposes."

Yea...I laughed when I read that too.

Well, work tonight so far has been fairly boring, 42 emails, though a few of them are mildly humorous.

"Hey, someone called me, I'm not sure who it was, can you have them call me back please."

Well, the fun explosion of things with Poly has seemed to settle down, at least on screen as it were. I've found myself really distant from the events, even though I am (apparently) someone that's somewhat involved in them? Still not entirely sure what that was about but *shrug* like I said, feeling very distant.

Work on Blitza's Application is proceeding smoothly, though I'm still not sure if I want to app him. If I take rejection that hard when I'm writing up someone else's character, how bad will it be if my own creation gets reject? On the flip side, it's hard to say that I'm not interpreting my own character correctly...so we'll see.

Well, nap time for me. We'll see if I can't pick up an hour or two of sleep at work today...Since I need to get auto tags, go grocery shopping, and swing by my girlfriend's room to drop off her present and pick up my hat.
